Is Democracy on life support globally? Why or why not?

Democracy is defined as the government of the people by the people and for the people. In a nutshell, the power belong to the people, they can do and undo the leadership. But, the events of the past recent decades are revealing and challenging, Sincerely, all these developments are kneel-choking democracy thereby deoxygenating it. The practical fallouts of bad leadership in every cardinal point of the globe have placed Democracy on a life support and immediate action is required to save it. Prayers are good but actions are better at the door step of emergency. A close examination of Democratic activities in Africa, America, South America, Europe and Asia will reinforced my assertions. The people must stand up to defend democracy save freedom of speech and expression until humanities are able to figure out a better form of government. .
